Windows Setup for Laptop

Steps involved in Windows XP Setup are as followed:

1. Restart computer, insert windows installation CD, or press F12 to change the boot device to USB (in case the system32 file documents are saved in flash drive.)
2. It will start read the contents of CD/ flash drive.
3. Press F6 to install a third party driver. 
4. After agree to Term and Conditions, it will ask you to choose which partition to set up windows XP.
5. Select the Partition that you want to set up windows, then choose "delete". This will permanent delete all of information on the drive of your current system drive.
6. Confirm partition delete request, then create new partition and space of drive.
7. Format partition using NTFS file system.
8. System will perform format, copy, and install procedure.
9. Setup basic information such as Regional and Language, Computer Name, Organization, date and time, network..
10.  Install Audio driver and wireless LAN driver which suitable for your laptop.

Steps involved in Windows 7 Setup are as followed:

1. Boot device to installation CD or USB.
2. Read the contents of CD or USB.
3. Agree to Term and Conditions, then select drive to delete on the drive options.
4. Choose unallocated space as it is your future system drive.
5. System will perform copy, expand, install features and updates procedure. Please be patient to wait because it is very time consuming. Depends on the speed of laptop, it usually takes about 5 to 30 minutes..o
6. Setup basic information such as Regional and Language, Computer Name, Organization, date and time, network..
7. Install those important drivers for your laptop.

Conclusion:
During the installation process, background for windows 7 installation is pretty smarter than windows XP installation.
Time consume in completing windows 7 installation is longer than windows XP.
Finding suitable drivers for own laptop is very time consuming ..
